Writers-in-Residence Networking Day July 7th

I was going to post about the first of our writers-in-residence networking day for writers in the South West, but then I found this wonderful post by one of the attendees (Josephine Corcoran), which speaks for itself.

I found it an extremely inspiring day, despite the poor weather. It's just wonderful to bring together so many passionate writers who truly believe in the power of the written work to bring about massive changes in communities.

I wanted to thank all of the writers (and the speakers) for opening up a fascinating dialogue. Going through the feedback forms has given the team at Cyprus Well a lot to consider when planning future events.

I thought it might be useful to list some of your suggestions for further professional development opportunities.

1. Practical measures, such as advice on liasing with school staff.
2. Where to look for and find work opportunities (join our mailing list!)
3. Safeguarding and best practice
4. Sharing workshop ideas, and approaches others have found useful with different groups
5. Advice on public speaking, festival and library readings
6. Session on planning and applications for projects - how to get the jobs you apply for
7. Advice on working in hospitals
8. To take part in writing exercises that others have found successful

If anyone has any more to add, please leave a comment. This is the best way for us to plan future development days.
